#26 is here.

#25 September 18, 1997 Brian Johnson

The Giants hadn't made the playoffs in 8 years and with 10 games to play trailed the Dodgers by 1.

Homers in the 4th and 5th by JT Snow and Barry Bonds gave the Giants a 5-1 lead that vanished in the 6th and 7th.  The Giants loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the 7th but didn't break the tie.  The Dodgers opened the 10th with three consecutive singles to load the bases, Rod Beck struck out Todd Zeile and then got Eddie Murray to hit into an inning ending double play.  Brian Johnson led off the bottom of the 12th with the biggest Giants home run off of the Dodgers in Candlestick history, giving San Francisco the win and evening up an NL West race that the Giants went on to win.

The 24th greatest moment in Candlestick history is tomorrow.
