They're here because of the 2nd best offense in the league.  Bert Jones is 24, 21 scores and 8 picks. 26 year old Lydell Mitchell had over 1700 yards from scrimmage and 15 TDs in a 14 game season.  28 year old George Kunz is an All Pro.  Their defense is the weakest unit in the game, 26 year old Stan White had 8 picks - the starting RDE is a 24 year old John Dutton.

The '93 Cowboys, '07 Cowboys, '71 Cowboys, '94 Cowboys are all into round 2, they're top 5 in both offense and defense in the strike shortened '82 and that places them in the play in game.  Danny White's 20, 16 TDs and 12 picks. Tony Dorsett is 28 and rushed for 745 yards in 9 games. Too Tall Jones is a 31 year old All Pro, he and 32 year old Harvey Martin combined for 14 sacks in those 9 games. 29 year old Randy White was an All Pro and the other member of the front four is 31 year old John Dutton.  It's Dutton v. Dutton here in the Region 10 Play in Game!  Dutton v. Dutton!  23 year old Everson Walls had 7 picks in those 9 games.

Ron Fellows takes the opening kick back 97 yards TOUCHDOWN COWBOYS - for the first time in the tournament, the opening kick is taken back all the way for a score.  Ron Fellows is into the endzone.

1/10 - Lydell Mitchell with the 11 yard carry.
1/10 - Bill Olds picks up 2. 
2/8 - Mitchell gets 1.  
3/7 - Bert Jones first completion is to Glenn Doughty = it's a 9 yard first down, the Colts are at their own 47.  
1/10 - Don McCauley for 4.
2/6 - Incomplete
3/6 - Jones picks it up - Raymond Chester is there for a 14 yard pickup, Colts are at the 35.
1/10 - Mitchell for 1.
2/9 - Mitchell for 2.
3/7 - Jones to Olds on a screen pass - it works, the Colts have another third down conversion, 15 yards and Baltimore is all the way to the 17 yard line.  

The next 3 plays lose 3 yards -- and Linhart misses the FG - the Colts come up empty, Dallas takes over at the 27.

1/10 - Dallas's first play from scrimmage is a 3 yard carry for Tony Dorsett.

That's the end - Dallas punts and the Colts start at the 11.

2/2 - Jones -- downfield to Glenn Doughty - 26 yard gain all the way to the 45.
1/10 - Too Tall Jones sacks Bert Jones, that's the last play of the qtr.

2nd Qtr: Cowboys 7 Colts 0
Ron Fellows took the opening kick back for a score, that's where the game remains, Colts have a second and 15 at their own 40.

2/15 - Jones, short to Mitchell, 4 yards.
3/11 - Jones to Olds -- 12 yard gain for the Colts, Baltimore reaches the Cowboy 44.
1/10 - Mitchell stopped at the line.
2/10 - Jones - to Roger Carr - he gets a step and he's got a 17 yard gain all the way to the Dallas 27 yard line.  

The drive ends, the next 3 plays net 8 yards -- and then Linhart misses his second FG of the game, and again, the Colts do not score.  

Dallas starts at the 26.  They get one first down on a 13 yard Dorsett run -- but that's all, and after the punt, Baltimore again has the ball, now a their own 25, halfway through the 2nd, still 7-0.

The Colts get a first down on a 16 year old Olds run -- but that's it - and after another punt, the Cowboys start at their own 19.

They're going to get back to back first downs on White passes to Cosbie, 13 yds, and then to Drew Pearson, 22 yards.  

But that's it - the Colts get the ball back at their own 20 yard line at the 2 minute mark.

2/9 - Incomplete
3/9 - Jones finds Doughty - he is out of bounds with the 14 yard gain.  1:36 left in the half, Colts with all 3 timeouts.  
1/10 - Jones -- in trouble -- dump off to Olds, out of bounds with a 2 yard gain.  
2/8 - Jones -- Jones looking downfield -- Jones with the big strike to Chester -- a 41 yard strike all the way to the Dallas 22 - Colts stop the clock with a little more than a minute left in the half, still down a score.  
1/10 - Jones - Mitchell - Lydell Mitchell is out of bounds at the Dallas 9, first and goal for the Colts.  
1/goal - Jones - Mitchell -- Mitchell Hurdles a Defender -- Lydell Mitchell is gonna Go Into the EndZone -- TOUCHDOWN COLTS -- Lydell Mitchell might be the best player on the field today -- he works his way into the endzone for the game tying score.  

Dallas starts at the 24 - they attempt a pass - but Fred Cook gets the Colts first sack of the day - and that's going to end the half.

3rd Qtr: Cowboys 7 Colts 7
Dallas took the opening kick back for a score, the Colts scored in the last few seconds of the half and that's where it stands as this Play In Game heads to the second half.

3/4 - Jones -- Doughty -- 13 yards, Colts have a first down at their 43.
1/10 - Give to Mitchell, he's got  7 - Colts have had the better end of the offense today, two missed FGs keeping Dallas in this game.  
2/3 - Incomplete
3/3 - Jones - Olds, he's got the first down -- the Colts at the Dallas 46 yard line.

The next 3 plays net a yard - Colts punt - Touchback.  

1/10 - White -- going up top on the first play of the half -- He Finds Drew Pearson, that's a 45 yard strike.  Big shot by White.  
1/10 - 2 yards to Dorsett.
2/8 - Dorsett is stopped, it's 3rd down at the 33.
3/8 - White - Butch Johnson -- Johnson's got the 21 yard reception to the 12 - that's a first down for Dallas.  
1/10 - Dorsett gets 2.
2/8 - Springs -- Sprung -- Ron Springs is gonna go into the endzone for a TOUCHDOWN COWBOYS - Dallas regains the lead on their first sustained drive of the day - 80 yards in three and a half minutes.  

Colts at the 24.  

3 and out - good quick stop for Dallas, they are getting the ball back at their own 43, 5 minutes left in the third, up a score.  

1/10 - Springs loses 2
2/12 - Dorsett gains 3
3/9 - White -- Tony Hill -- he's right at the sticks, Dallas has the first down.  
1/10 - Dorsett, Dorsett with the 13 yard gain - Dallas is at the 34 yard line and this Baltimore crowd starting to get anxious here - Dallas has the lead and is moving again.
1/10 - Timmy Newsome's first carry, 4 yards.  
2/6 - White to Dorsett out of the backfield - nice, nice, nice moves by TD - 15 yards - Dallas has another first down at the 15.
1/10 - Springs for 5.
2/5 - Give to Dorsett -- Tony Dorsett is gonna go...Into the End Zone...TOUCHDOWN COWBOYS - Dallas just rolling right now, up two scores as we reach the end of the third.

Colts start at the 17 - Mitchell loses 2 yards on first down and we switch sides.

4th Qtr Cowboys 21 Colts 7
Dallas scores on both of its last third qtr drives - Dallas really rolling now.  Colts are at their own 15, 2nd and 12.

Baltimore goes 3 and out again.  Dallas gets the ball back in Colts territory, at the 43, Dallas looking for the dagger now.  

1/10 - White -- Doug Cosbie - 16 yards and the Cowboys are at the 27.
1/10 - White - Dorsett, 5 yards.  
2/5 - White -- floating one to the endzone -- Tony Hill is underneath -- TOUCHDOWN COWBOYS - Danny White 22 yards to Tony Hill - pretty ball - Dallas has run away now, it is 27-7 when the XP is missed, less than 13 minutes left and it's a matter only of the final score.  

Colts at the 31, 3 and out.  

Cowboys at the 47.  Just running the ball now.  3 and out.  

Colts take over at their own 4 yard line.  Dallas in the prevent defense - Colts midrange pass their way down the field - it takes 4 minutes, the biggest plays being a 14 yard pass to Chester and a 12 yard pass to McCauley - it ends with the 15 yard score from Jones to Roger Carr TOUCHDOWN COLTS - it's 27-13 Dallas, 5:30 left in the game.

Dallas gets it at the 25.  Again, they're running the ball.  One first down, Dorsett's 7 yard gain the biggest play. They have to punt - Colts get the ball back at the 2 minute warning, still 27-14.

They get a couple big plays - 21 yards to Chester, 22 yards to Doughty - all time outs get spent - and the drive will end on downs at the Dallas 32.  Victory formation for White and it is done.

The third quarter was the difference here, Dallas scored on both possessions, took a 2 TD lead, the Colts never got back into the game - Dallas will now play a contemporary, the top seed in region 10 - the 1984 San Francisco 49ers.
