One last Raider team in Rnd 1, the '84 Raiders with the 4th best defense in football.  3 All Pros, 24 year old Howie Long and 30 year old Rod Martin combined for 23 sacks and 31 year old Mike Haynes. 37 year old Jim Plunkett started just 6 times but gets the ball here, 7 scores and 10 picks. 24 year old Marcus Allen had over 1900 yards from scrimmage and 18 TDs. 28 year old Todd Christiansen had over a thousand yards receiving.  

4 spots left - one of them about to be claimed. Lets go to Lambeau.

1st Qtr 
Travis Williams ran back 4 kicks for TDs, he takes the opening kick to the Packs own 40.

One first down - Bart Starr 24 to Boyd Dowler - but a Lyle Alzado sack ends the drive and when the Pack misses a long FG the Raiders take over at their own 40.

Two first downs, Jim Plunkett 11 yards to Dokie Williams, 11 yard Marcus Allen run.

But the drive ends in a punt, Pack starting at the 13.

3 and out.  Raiders at their own 45.

They get a first down when Kenny King busts a big 36 yard run.  The drive stalls - but a Bahr FG makes it 3-0.

Pack at the 29 - 2 plays net a yard and the quarter ends.

2nd Qtr Raiders 3 Packers 0
All defense so far, Pack has a 3rd and 9 at their own 30.

They pick it up - Starr to Dowler for 15, but Rod Martin ends the drive with a sack - Raiders again getting the ball in good field position at the 45.

3 and out.  Pack gets it at the 17.

They get a first down - Starr to to Carroll Dale  for 29 yards -- but the Raiders get their third sack, Howie Long gettign this one and again a punt.  

Raiders at the 26.

1/10 - Marcus Allen home run, 40 yards, Allen streaking his way to the Packer 34.  
1/10 - Frank Hawkins 15 yard pickup and the Raiders are at the 19.

2/10 - Nothing for King
3/10- Plunkett finds Cliff Branch -- Branch is leveled by Willie Wood -- It's a Fumble -- Dumble -- and the Pack takes over at the 8 yard line.  

3 and out.  The Raiders get the ball with a little more than 2 minutes left in the half at their own 47, Greg Pruitt and the Raider special teams winning the field position battle here in the first half.  

1/10 - Hawkins for 1.  2 minute warning.
2/9 - Plunkett is Going Deep -- He Hits Dokie Williams, Williams is out of bounds at the Packer 10 yard line!  42 yards from Plunkett to Williams!
1/goal -- Marcus Allen -- Allen breaks a tackle -- Allen gliding Into the End Zone -- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - it is the Raiders - the 14th seeds in the region, up 10-0 on the '67 Champs.  

Pack ball at the 38, 90 seconds left.

They go 3 and out - the Raiders get the ball back at the 25, a Willie Davis sack ends the half.

3rd Qtr: Raiders 10 Packers 0
The 4th and 5th seeds lost and here's the third seed getting shut out at the half.

1/10 - Give to Allen, he goes for 9.
2/1 - Plunkett -- going over the top -- he finds Malcolm Barnwell for a 35 yard pickup, the Raiders at the Packer 30.
1/10 - Allen is stopped
2/10 - Hawkins is stopped
3/10 - Plunkett...Plunkett keeps the play alive and goes to Allen, Allen picks his way forward and gets to the first down at the 19 yard line.
1/10 - 4 for Hawkins
2/6 - 9 yards for Allen to the Packer 6 yard line.
1/goal - Plunkett -- fires to the back of the end zone -- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - Malcolm Barnwell 6 yard score  --- the LA Raiders are thumping the Packers, it is 17-0!!

2/10 - Nothing for Wilson - offsides on the next play makes it 3rd and 5.
3/5 - Starr 7 to Dowler, first down.
1/10 - Starr to Dale, 7 yards to the 46.
2/3 - Starr to Allen Brown, 5 yards.  
1/10 - 5 for Wilson and another offsides and it's a first down.  Pack at the Raider 39.
1/10 - 1 for Anderson
2/9 - Jim Grabowski breaks it -- Grabowski steamrolling his way All the Way to the End Zone -- TOUCHDOWN PACKERS -- In just 6 minutes the Packers go 74 yards and cut the deficit to 17-7.

Raiders at the 30.  One first down, 14 yard Allen run.  The drive ends in a punt - Pack at the 15.

1/10 - 4 for Dick Anderson
2/6 - Grabowski for 1
3/5 - Starr to Wilson, a dozen yards to the 32 and the quarter ends.

4th Qtr Raiders 17 Packers 7
LA still has a 10 point lead but there's a sign of life here, the Pack scores and has a first down at the 32.  

1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - Wilson gets 3
3/7 - 11 yard frrom Starr to Dowler, Pack at the 46.
1/10 - Grabowski breaks another one -- 38 yard gainer -- Green Bay now at the Raider 16 yard line.

But - the drive ends -- Chandler FG makes it 17-10.  Less than 12 to play.

Raiders at the 36.

1/10 - 10 yard gain for Hawkins.  
1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - 2 for Allen
3/8 - Big pickup - Plunkett 17 yars to Greg Pruitt, his first play from scrimmage all day -- the Raiders are now at the Packer 35, still up a score, 9 minutes left in the football game.  
1/10 - Allen stacked up.
2/11 - King stacked up
3/12 - Plunkett finds Barnwell right at the sticks -- the Raiders just taking the heart of the Packers defense here - it's a first down --- the drive will end here - but Bahr hits the FG and with 5 and a half minutes left in this football game, Raiders are up 20-10.

Great return by Williams -- all the way to the Packer 48.

1/10 - Wilson for 13.
1/10 - Anderson for 11.  Pack at the Raider 28.
1/10 - Wilson...Wilson busts it -- Ben Wilson Is Gonna Go -- Into the End Zone -- TOUCHDOWN PACKERS -- It just took 3 plays, 3 plays -- and the Packers have cut this deficit to 20-17.  

Raiders at the 38.  4 and a half minutes left.  Up 3.  

1/10 - Nothing for Pruitt
2/10 - Plunkett is sacked - Dave Robinson brings Plunkett down and it's 3rd and long.
3/10 -- Incomplete.....except the Packers are flagged for defensive holding, huge, huge, huge call - Lombardi furious on the sideline, the Raiders get a critical first down.
1/10 - 6 for Allen
2/4 - Marcus Allen goes 13 yards -- thats going to take us to the 2 minute warning -- the Pack will need to use their timeouts now - First down at the 38 for the Raiders.

3 running plays get nothing - but the Pack is forced to burn all 3 timeouts.  Bahr....Misses....a FG.  That's a big spot - the Raiders don't punt - isntead, they try the long FG -- when they miss it gives the Pack the ball back at their own 40, 80 seconds to go.

Okay, 20-17 Raiders.  Pack out of timeouts.  1:20 left.  Starr needs a couple of first downs for a shot at a game tying FG.

1/10 - Starr to Grabowski, 8 yards and out of bounds, 1:07 left.
2/2 - Starr -- Sacked by Long!  Howie Long gets to Starr - it's 3rd and 10 now, clock is running.
3/10 - Incomplete.  

45 seconds left.  4th and 10 at their own 40.  Pack down 3.

And it's done -- it's done -- the 14th seeded Raiders come into Lambeau and knock off the Packers.
