#30 December 31, 1983 The Forgotten Comeback

The 49ers have had multiple end of game come from behind wins in the playoffs that spring to mind quickly.

This one should be recalled here; the Lions went up 23-17 on Billy Sims's second touchdown of the 4th quarter with 4:44 left. The Niners drive began at the 30, 7 plays later San Francisco was at the Detroit 27 at the two minute warning - a 13 yard pass to Russ Francis was followed by a 14 yard touchdown pass to Freddie Solomon giving the Niners a 24-23 lead with 1:23 left.  Eddie Murray, who already had 3 FGs on the day, missed a 42 yarder at the gun that gave San Francisco the win.

The Niners intercepted Gary Danielson 5 times, two by Riki Ellison.

The 29th greatest moment in Candlestick Park history is tomorrow.
