I Pick Football Games, Labor Day Weekend 2014

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Each week during the 2014 football season I'll pick some games, probably any number of college games and 5 NFL games, mimicking the LVH Supercontest.  This tends to go reasonably well, but better later in the year than now.  If I'm under .500 for a month that shouldn't surprise.  NCAA lines from one of the more promiment online sportsbooks; NFL lines will be the official Supercontest lines most likely.

Boise +10.5 Ole Miss loss
Colorado St. +3 Colorado win
UCF -2 Penn St. loss
Kent -2.5 Ohio loss
Utah St. +6 Tenn loss

1-4, and we're off.

2014 NFL Predictions

I'll probably edit in an update before the season opener, here are my projected 2014 NFL win totals.  When there are opportunities to play against the Vegas over/under, I'll note that.  My record, historically, in that effort is good.

AFC East
New England 12-4
Miami 8-8
New York 6-10
Buffalo 6-10

AFC Central
Cincinnati 9-7
Pittsburgh 9-7 (WC)
Baltimore 8-8
Cleveland 5-11

AFC South
Indianapolis 10-6
Houston 8-8
Tennessee 6-10 (under 7)
Jacksonville 5-11 (under 5.5)

AFC West
Denver 13-3 (over 11.5)
San Diego 9-7 (WC)
Kansas City 7-9
Oakland 4-12

AFC Champion - Denver

NFC East
Philadelphia 10-6
Dallas 7-9
NYG 7-9
Washington 7-9

NFC North
Green Bay 11-5
Chicago 9-7 (WC)
Detroit 7-9
Minnesota 5-11

NFC South
New Orleans 12-4 (over 10.5)
Carolina 7-9
Atlanta 7-9
Tampa 7-9

NFC West
Seattle 11-5
San Francisco 10-6 (WC)
Arizona 7-9
St. Louis 5-11

NFC Champion - New Orleans

Thinking just about the Niners; this projection finds us going to Philadelphia in the WC round, and assuming the Bears were to lose in (let's say) Green Bay, we'd head to New Orleans where, I'll say our season comes to an end.
