#29 is here.

#28 January 3, 1982 10 Years in the Making

After a decade on the outside, the 49ers returned to the playoffs here, beating the Giants 38-24 to earn a spot in the NFC Championship. San Francisco took a 24-7 second quarter lead on Joe Montana TD passes to Charle Young and Freddie Solomon and a Ricky Patton TD run.  New York scored the next 10 points and missed a 21 yard field goal that would have brought the game to 24-20.

A 4th quarter Bill Rinmg score and then Ronnie Lott returning a Scott Brunner pick (Lott's second INT) for a score finished New York off, 38-24 the final score.  Both Solomon and Dwight Clark had over a hundred yards receiving and the Niners were on their way to a date with Dallas.

73 down as we countdown the 100 Greatest Moments in Candlestick Park History.  27 left.
