1949 is here.

My WAR calculation is a combination of Baseball-reference and Clay Davenport; I believe it to be the "best" WAR number available for historical comparison. 8 WAR is an MVP quality season. The record is pythagorean adjusted for 162 games.

1950 90-72
C Wes Westrum 4.45
1B Tookie Gilbert  -.95
2B Eddie Stanky 8.05MVPQ
SS Alvin Dark 4.95
3B Hank Thompson 5.35
LF Whitey Lockman  1.95
CF Bobby Thomson 1.8
RF Don Mueller .05
Uti Monte Irvin 3.25
SP Larry Jansen 5
SP Sheldon Jones -.55
SP Dave Koslo 1.25
SP Jim Hearn 3.85
RP Sal Maglie 4.3
RP Monty Kennedy -.4

-Durocher's first full season is also the Giants first 90 pythagorean win season since their last pennant 13 years previous.  A former manager of James J. Braddock's is killed at the Polo Grounds during a Dodgers game by a stray bullet shot by a teen outside the park.  Maglie, 33 years old but in only his second season in MLB, comes back to the Giants after a stint in the Mexican League.  Stanky has the best individual season by a Giant since '38. The first baseman's name is Tookie.
