 Actual Result:  The Bulls go back to back, beating the Blazers 4-2.

Simulation: The Lakers won 3 straight from '68-'70, the Celtics did it twice in the 80s, '80-'82 and '86-'88.  The Bulls look to win their third in a row this year.  They face the Cleveland Cavaliers, who beat the Celtics in the Semis, making their first conference finals since '76. Also back in the conference finals are the Blazers, they'll be playing the Utah Jazz, making their first conference finals; the Jazz began in New Orleans in '75, they moved to Salt Lake in 1980, the first playoff appearance was '84. They knocked off the Clippers and Sonics and now face the Blazers.

East Finals Game 1 (Chi) Cavaliers 106 Bulls 99
The Cavs come to Chicago and take game 1.  Huge, huge game for Brad Daugherty, 37 points and 15 rebounds.  Craig Ehlo scores 20 points, Larry Nance double/double.  30 for Michael Jordan in the loss. Horace Grant double/double.

East Finals Game 2 (Chi) Cavs 112 Bulls 101
The back to back NBA Champion Bulls drop the first two at home to the Cavs. 23 points/17 rebounds for Brad Daugherty. Mike Sanders scores 22.  Jordan has 29 in the loss. 

East Finals Game 3 (Cle) Cavs 119 Bulls 94
The Cavs are whipping the 67 win Bulls.  Daugherty scores 26, Craig Ehlo has 22, double/double for Larry Nance and Hot Rod Williams. 22 for Jordan, Bill Cartwight double/double.

East Finals Game 4 (Cle) Cavs 112 Bulls 106
The Bulls are swept out of the East Finals and the Cleveland Cavaliers are headed to their first ever NBA Finals. Larry Nance scores 25, 24 for Mark Price, double/double for the series MVP Brad Daugherty. 26 pts and 13 assists for Scottie Pippen. 22 and 17 boards for Horace Grant, Jordan goes for 24 and the Bulls are shockingly headed home.

 West Finals Game 1 (Port) Blazers 123 Jazz 113
The Blazers lost in the West Finals in '90, lost in the NBA Finals in '91, can they take that one last step this year?  Clyde scores 26, Jeff Malone 21 in the loss.  20 and 12 for Karl Malone. 

West Finals Game 2 (Port) Blazers 125 Jazz 108
Portland takes both home games to start the series. Big Drexler game, he scores 39. Kevin Duckworth double/double.  The Mailman goes 32 and 15.  18 pts/17 assists for John Stockton. 

West Finals Game 3 (Utah) Blazers 119 Jazz 116 (OT)
The Blazers move within a game of heading back to the NBA Finals. Clyde is not going to be denied, he scores 41. 21 for Terry Porter. Jerome Kersey double/double. 33 and 17 for Karl Malone in the loss, Jeff Malone scores 25, double/double for Stockton

West Finals Game 4 (Utah) Jazz 120 Blazers 106
The Jazz do not get swept, the series will return to Portland for game 5.  What a series for Karl Malone, he goes 41 and 13. Stockton double/double.  23 for Drexler in the loss. 20 and 14 for Buck Williams

West Finals Game 5 (Port) Jazz 108 Blazers 94
People in Portland are starting to sweat, the Blazers lose again and head back to Salt Lake, now up 3-2.  It's Jeff Malone leading the way with 31. 24 and 10 for Karl Malone. Clyde scores 30 in the loss. Buck Williams double/double.

West Finals Game 6 (Utah) Jazz 101 Blazers 91
A Karl Malone putback at the buzzer on a Jeff Malone miss ties the series at 3.  38 and 11 for the Mailman. 24 for Jeff, Stockton has his best postseason game to date, 20 points and 18 assists.  24 for Terry Porter leads the Blazers in the loss. Drexler and Jerome Kersey double/double.

The Jazz come all the way back to force Game 7 back in Portland.

West Finals Game 7 (Port) Blazers 105 Jazz 95
The Portland Trail Blazers are back to back Western Conference Champions and return to the NBA Finals, looking for their first ever NBA Championship against another franchise, the Cleveland Cavaliers, looking for its first.  Clyde leads in scoring for the winners with 19, he's the series MVP. Double/double for Kersey, Buck Williams, Kevin Duckworth.  21 for Jeff Malone, 20 for the Mailman and Stockton.  

NBA FINALS (June) PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS v. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS
We will have a first time NBA Finals winner, the Blazers have been here twice, last year and '77, losing both times. It's last year's group again. 29 year old Clyde Drexler was the West Finals MVP again this year, second in the regular season MVP. Next to him in the backcourt is 28 year old Terry Porter. On the frontline, 31 year old Buck Williams was second team All Defense, 27 year old Kevin Duckworth and 31 year old Jerome Kersey round out the starting 5.  Short bench, 25 year old Clifford Robinson, 32 year old Danny Ainge getting the lion's share of the minutes.

Lenny Wilkens won the NBA Title as the Sonics head coach in '79, he brings the Cavs to their first NBA Finals. 26 year old Brad Daugherty was East Finals MVP in the Cavs sweep over the Bulls and made the All Star team. 32 year old Larry Nance was second team All Defense, 31 year old Mike Sanders joins them in the frontcourt.  27 year old Mark Price was also an All Star, 30 year old Craig Ehlo is the second guard, much longer bench for the Cavs, including 29 year old Hot Rod Williams, 29 year old John Battle, 21 year old Terrell Brandon, 26 year old Steve Kerr.

The Cavs score 40 additional points in game two, squaring the series as we head to Cleveland.  28 points for Mark Price, 26 for Nance, double/double for Brad Daugherty. Terry Porter drops 32 in the loss, Double/double for Drexler and Buck Williams

Price scores 6 points in the last 29 seconds to tie the score, but its Clyde at the buzzer, dropping in a contested 14 footer to win the game.  Drexler scores 33 in the win.  21 for Porter, double/double for Williams.  22 and 13 for Nance in the loss, Daugherty scores 21, 20 points and 10 assists for Price

NBA FINALS GAME 4 (Cleve) Cavs 115 Blazers 103
The Cavs knot the series, game 5 coming up from Cleveland as the Finals maintain the 2-3-2 format. 26 points and 15 rebounds for Brad Daugherty, Hot Rod Williams goes for 22 off the bench, Nance scores 21. Clyde scores 33 again in the defeat, 20 and 11 for Jerome Kersey.

NBA FINALS GAME 5 (Cleve) Cavs 120 Blazers 91
Huge wipeout win positions the Cavs one win from the NBA Championship. 23 points, 17 rebounds for Brad Daugherty. 21 and 13 assists for Price. Larry Nance scores 20. 24 points/15 rebounds for Buck Williams in the defeat. Terry Porter scores 22. Clyde scores 20.  

NBA FINALS GAME 6 (Port) Cavs 104 Blazers 103
With 9 seconds left, Clyde Drexler hit a 3 to give the Blazers a 1 point lead, the Cavs were out of time outs, Mar Price took the inbounds, streaked down the floor, got into the lane and heaved up a 1 handed runner -- and it went home.  At the buzzer, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Portland Trail Blazers to become NBA Champions. 25 points and 10 assists for Price, that game winner making him the Finals MVP. Double/double for Daugherty, Nance, and Craig Ehlo, in his best postseason performance.  32 for Clyde in the heartbreaking loss, Buck Williams double/double.

That's 7 straight NBA Championships for the Eastern Conference.
