The Packers have had good round one success: 1961, 1962, 1996, 1997 2014 -- 5 out of the 8 regions have a Packer squad moving forward.  The 2007 team is the 15th seed in Region 9, here because of the 4th ranked offense from '07.  Brett Favre is 38, 28 scores and 15 picks. A 24 year old Aaron Rodgers is on the bench. A thousand yards receiving for 32 year old Donald Driver. On defense, 19 combined sacks for 28 year old Aaron Kampman, 27 year old Corey Williams. 

Last round one game in region  9 - cold Minneapolis day - winner to face the '51 Rams in the second round.  Lets go to the kick.

Packers start at the 27.

3 and out.  Vikes at the 38.

2/10 - Bill Brown picks up a yard.  
3/9 - Joe Kapp picks up the game's first first down - he hits Dave Osborn for a 10 yard gain.
1/10 - Osborn gets 1
2/9 - Osborn gets 8
3/1 - Brown picks it up, the Vikes are at the Packer 37.
1/10 - Brown gets 1
2/9 - Osborn gets 1
3/8 - Kapp in trouble -- Kapp is dropped by Aaron Kampman - it's 4th and 13 for the Vikes at the Packer 40.  

Long FG attempt by Fred Cox -- 57 yards -- that's a real bomb....up......Good!  Fred Cox hits a 57 yard FG and Minnesota takes the 3-0 lead.  Longest kick in the tournament to date.

Pack at the 32.  

1/10 - Ryan Grant loses 2 yards.
2/12 - Brett Favre going up top -- Favre finds Greg Jennings for the 49 yard bomb -- Favre picks up GB first first down with the home run.  
1/10 - Favre - Grant out of the backfield, 3 yard gain.  
2/7 - Favre -- fires over the middle to Donald Driver -- Driver has a step -- Driver's going to roll into the Endzone -- TOUCHDOWN PACKERS - Favre hits Driver with the 18 yard score and GB takes the lead.  

Vikes at the 33.

1/10 - Brown is stacked up.
2/10 - Oscar Reed gets 1
3/9 - Joe Kapp finds Gene Washington - 20 yard gain as the qtr ends the Vikes are across midfield.  

2nd Qtr: Packers 7 Vikings 3
Pack take the lead on a quick Favre TD drive, Vikes have first down at the Pack 46.

1/10 - Kapp to Brown out of the backfield, 4 yard pickup.
2/6 - Give to Brown and he's through the line - Brown all the way down to the 27 yard line.
1/10 - Reed is stopped.
2/10 - 2 for Brown
3/8 - Kapp - hits John Henderson in the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN VIKINGS - 25 yard scoring strike from Joe Kapp to John Henderson and the Vikings regain the lead.  

Packers at their own 20 - they get a first down, Favre to Driver for a dozen - but need to punt, Vikes at the 25.

3 and out.  Corey Williams gets the second Packer sack of the day - and after the punt, Packers in great field position at the Viking 47.

1/10 - Grant is stopped at the line.
2/10 - Favre dump off to Korey Hall, 2 yards.  
3/8 - Draw - Ryan Grant - Grant's Got a Hole -- Grant's Got a Hole--- Ryan Grant is Gonna Go - 45 yards into the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN PACKERS - Ryan Grant with the 45 yard TD run and GB has again taken the lead in this 2/15 matchup.  

Vikes at the 38.  One first down - Kapp to Brown, 13 yards - but there's a punt - it rolls dead at the Packer 3 yard line, Favre pinned deep.  

1/10 - Big play here -- Pack decides to throw the ball - that's a mistake, the People Eaters put the heat on Favre and Alan Page drops him in the endzone for the Safety - Vikes get the big safety, that cuts the deficit to 14-12.  

And then another big play - Clint Jones returns the kick all the way to the Packer 15 yard line - we hit the 2 minute warning with the Vikes having grabbed a safety and now are in position to score again before the half.

2/10 - Kapp - in trouble -- Kapp - just dumps it off to Henderson for a couple yards. 
3/8 - Kapp - Endzone -- Henderson ---     TOUCHDOWN VIKINGS - Kapp hits John Henderson again, the second time in the half - it's now 19-14 Vikes - they score 9 points in a minute, just a big reversal here -- the great punt, the safety, the great return - and now a quick score and the Pack will get the ball back -- they will have great field position after the KR at their own 41.

3 and out - Carl Eller gets a sack - Packers give the ball back to Minnesota with less than a minute left - Vikes do get a nice gain on a 30 yard Kapp to Gene Washington reception, but the half harmlessly ends.  

3rd Qtr: Vikings 19 Packers 14
Packers had a 4 point lead late in the half - but Minnesota scores 9 fast points and take the lead.

Vikes start at the 17.

3 and out.  Charles Woodson with the return to the Viking 40.  

1/10 - Favre to Donald Lee, 8 yards.
2/2 - Incomplete
3/2 - Favre again to Lee, 4 yards, Pack at the 28.
1/10 - Gary Larsen sacks Favre, third sack for the People Eater defensive line.  
2/14 - Grant carries for 6.  Third and 9.
3/9 - Favre -- Greg Jennings on the sideline, he has the first down and the Pack are at the Viking 12 yard line.

But....that's all.  Short Crosby FG and it's 19-17 Vikings midway through the third.  

Vikes at their own 17 -- another 3 and out - Nick Barnett sacks Kapp, third Packer sack of the day - Vikes have to punt deep in their own end and the Pack will start at midfield, trailing by 2 points.

3 and out - the Viking defense stiffens - Pack has to punt - Vikes will start at their own 24.

3 and out.  Pack takes over at their own 42.  

1/10 - Favre is sacked - Jim Marshall gets him, all four members of the Viking DL with sacks today.
2/15 - Favre -- harrassed - it's a jailbreak - Favre throws it up for grabs -- it is Picked Off by Paul Krause -- Krause Intercepts Favre -- Krause has some blockers -- Paul Krause has some Blockers --- Paul Krause is gonna Go!  Paul Krause is Gonna Go!  TOUCHDOWN VIKINGS - just a huge, huge, huge spot here- the Viking lead is now 25-17, Paul Krause with the Pick 6 late in the third quarter.

Packers at the 25.

1/10 - Favre flips to Grant, 5 yds.  
2/5 - Hall gets 1.
3/4 - Favre.  Donald Driver.  16 yards and Green Bay is at the 47.
1/10 - Favre -- Favre's looking downfield -- Favre Going Deep -- Greg Jennings -- And Jennings Has it - Right in the Heart of the Defense - Favre with the Perfect Strike and Jennings is gonna be into the endzone - TOUCHDOWN PACKERS -- Brett Favre comes right back after the pick six and throws a 53 yard absolute dart to Greg Jennings - it's the last play of the 3rd, as we go to the 4th it will be Vikings 26 Packers 24 - we have a good one here, possible 2/15 upset  - 15 more minutes of round one football in region 9.

4th Qtr: Vikings 26 Packers 24
Favre giveth, taketh away - he throws a pick 6 and 4 plays later hits a 53 yard strike for a score.  It's a 2 point game.  Packers trying to pull the 15/2 upset.  Winner will meet the '51 Rams.

Vikes start at the 14.

1/10 Osborn carries for 2.
2/8 - Reed for 3
3/5 - Joe Kapp picks it up, 8 to Osborn.
1/10 - Osborn for 4
2/6 - Reed picks it up, Vikes out to the 37.
1/10 - Kapp finds John Beasley in the All-Berkeley connection, 11 yards to the 48.
1/10 - Osborn finds a seam and goes for 11 - Vikes on the move all the way to the Green Bay 39 yard line.

But ---- the next 3 plays net a loss of 3 yards - and the Vikes punt.  That drive took over 7 minutes and came up empty - Pack starts at their own 13.  Favre needs a FG to win this game and pull the huge, huge upset.  

1/10 - Favre to Bubba Franks, his first catch is for 5.
2/5 - Favre to James Jones - his first catch is a 16 yard gain and the Pack is at their own 34.

But....the next 3 plays net 3 yards and with under 6 left, the Vikes get the ball back at their own 29.  GB needs a quick stop here.

1/10 - Osborn loses 2.  
2/12 - Kapp - goes to Brown, 6 yards.  
3/6 - Kapp picks it up- 13 yards to Gene Washington and now with less than 4 to go, Vikes are at their own 46.  
1/10 - Reed...Reed has some yards, 11 yard gain for Reed.  

But....the next 3 plays net a yard and at the 2 minute warning, GB gets one more shot, they take the ball at their own 19.  Here we go.

1/10 - Monster Alan Page sack, his second, on first down, Pack has to stop the clock. 
2/18 - Favre comes right back at them 23 yards to Donald Driver -- that's a first down - Packers use their second timeout, there's 1:39 left in the game, Pack down to 1 timeout, they are at their own 34 - a FG wins this game.

3/10 - Favre has to keep the play alive, Favre running around, 38 year old Brett Favre desparate -- Favre pulls the ball down and takes off -- Favre is gonna get all the way to midfield -- he is out of bounds with the huge 16 yard gain - there's a minute left, Packers are at midfield - they just need a FG to win this game.

And so - here we are.  4th and 10 at midfield.  

4/10 - Favre.  Favre in trouble -- Favre in trouble -- Favre is gonna be Brought Down by Carl Eller!  The Carl Eller sack is gonna end the game - Carl Eller sacks Brett Favre and that is gonna do it -- Kapp's able to burn the clock and it is done.

Fun game to wrap up Region 9 - that Viking defense had a safety, a pick 6, and a half dozen sacks, including one that ended the game and they move on.
