Oakland was 1st in offense, 2nd in defense in the AFL in 1967 (only 9 teams in the AFL) the only game they lost all year (before the Super Bowl) was the Heidi Game to the Jets.  
30 scores for the Mad Bomber (and 20 picks, it was a different time) he's one of 6 All Pros on the roster. On defense, Willie Brown had 7 picks.  John Madden's a LB coach for this group.  Oakland beat Brady's '15 Pats in round one despite giving up over 350 passing yds.  In Rnd 2, the defense throttled the '75 Dolphins with 5 sacks and 3 picks, including one for a score.

 2nd best defense in football with 4 All Pros - 27 year old Patrick Willis, 24 year old NaVorro Bowman, 23 year old Aldon Smith and 28 year old Dashon Goldson.  Smith had 19.5 sacks. Andy Lee was also the All Pro punter in the NFL in '12. 25 year old Colin Kaepernick took over the QB job midseason from Alex Smith; who knows - we may see both of them at some point. 29 year old Frank Gore rushed for 1200 yds.  The Niners lone offensive All Pro is 25 year old Mike Iupati. The third receiver on this club is 35 year old Randy Moss.  129 yards on the ground for Gore in the rnd 1 win over the '50 Eagles.  The Niners shutout the 2nd seed in the region, the '19 Ravens, 20-0 in round 2 - San Francisco has given up just 3 points in the tournament. 

The 2002 Bucs won the first region 1 semi - here's the second; one of these two teams will face Tampa in the Region 1 Final.  That game will not happen immediately, we'll finish all the regional semi finals before doing the regional finals.  So, it'll be a minute.  

We've got a battle of the Bay Area - Raiders are favored by 7, let's go to a raucous Oakland Alameda County Coliseum.

1st Qtr
LaMichael James with a good return, out to the 41.

1/10 - Frank Gore gets a yard.
2/9 - Gore is through the line, it's a first dow --- Gore's met by Dan Conners in a violent collision -- FUMBLE - The Raiders recover!  Oakland forces a fumble on the second play of the game and Oakland takes over at their own 48 yard line!

3 and out.  Raiders punt, Niners at the 11.

1/10 - Right back to Gore -- 16 yards.
1/10- 3 yard pickup for James.  
2/7 - Colin Kaepernick's first attempt is complete to Vernon Davis - 8 yards and a first down at the 38.

The drive ends in a Warren Powers sack - after the punt, Raiders at the 31.

3 and out.  Niners get it back at the 36.

3 and out.  Raiders at their own 47 after the strong Rodger Bird return.  

3 and out.  Niners deep in their own end at the 7 with less than 5 to go in the quarter.

1/10 - Kaepernick to Crabtree, 7 yards.
2/3 - Gore picks it up.
1/10 - It's an end around to Crabtree and he turns the corner and picks up 18 yards - Niners at the 37.  
1/10 - Gore for 1.
2/9 - Kaepernick to Randy Moss - the veteran Moss with a big 15 yard pickup and the Niners cross midfield. 
1/10 - Gore for 1.
2/9 - Kaepernick downfield - big shot to Mario Manningham -- it's 28 yards all the way to the Raider 18 yard line!  That ends the quarter, Niners in the red zone.

2nd Qtr: Raiders 0 49ers 0
San Francisco holds Oakland without a first down; Niners have a first down at the 18.

They aren't able to advance the ball, Akers FG and it is 3-0.

Raiders start at the 16 - another 3 and out, this San Francisco defense has allowed just 3 points in the tournament and Oakland has yet to get a first down in this regional semi final.

Niners at the Raider 45 - great field position here.  

But - they can't move the ball - Oakland takes over at the 9.

1/10 - Clem Daniels for 9.
2/1 - Hewritt Dixon stopped at the line.
3/1 - Daryle Lamonica right down the heart of the field to Billy Cannon, it's a 22 yard pickup for Cannon - dragged down at the 39.

But - it ends here - and after the punt, the Niners take over at the 16.

1/10 - Kaepernick - PICKED OFF by Willie Brown -- Brown picks off Kaepernick -- Willie Brown had 2 picks in round 2 - he gets Kaepernick here, Raiders at the 11 yard line.

1/10 - Lamonica -- End Zone -- Fred Biletnikoff --- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - it takes just one play - Lamionica 11 yards to Biletnikoff following the Brown pick, and Oakland goes up 7-3.

Niners at the 32.  3 and out.  Raiders at the 28.  5 minutes left in the half.

1/10 - Lamonica in trouble, gets back to the line.
2/10 - Lamonica finds Biletnikoff -- he in space, all the way to the 47, 19 yard gain.
1/10 - Daniels gets 1
2/9 Lamonica to Bill Miller, he gets 4 it's third and 5.
3/5 - Lamonica to Daniels, he works his way for a 12 yard gain - Raiders at the 36 at the 2 minute warning.
1/10 - Lamonica to Dixon, 2 yards.
2/8 Daniels gets 2.
3/6 - Lamonica to Dixon...he fights his way forward to the sticks and the Raiders are at the Niner 25 yard line.

That's it - Blanda will hit a FG to make it 10-3 Oakland, no real time left for the Niners to advance and the half ends.

3rd Qtr: Raiders 10 49ers 3
Willie Brown's INT is the difference, Oakland up a score in this defensive fight.

Raiders at the 28.  

3 and out.

Niners in good shape at the 41 after the Ginn return and Harbaugh's going to the bench for Alex Smith, the 2 QB thing worked in the last round, they try it here, looking to get something going.  

3 and out.  Ben Davidson picking up a sack.

Raiders at the 23.

1/10 - Lamonica to Miller, 9 yards.
2/10 - Lamonica looking long -- Lamonica going up --- ITS BILETNIKOFF -- BILETNIKOFF CATCHES THE BALL IN STRIDE -- AND HE'S GONNA GO --- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS -- Lamonica 68 yard missile to Biletnikoff - BOOOM, Oakland goes up 17-3 and this place is on fire!~~

Niners at the 36 - on the second play, Alex Smith is strip sacked by Ike Lassiter -- FUMBLE -- FUMBLE -- Oakland recovers, the Raiders take over at the Niner 30 yard line.

1/10- Dixon rumbles 26 yards - all the way to the 4 yard line; the Raiders are nailing the coffin shut, up 14, 7 minutes left in the third.

The drive stalls - back to back sacks by Ahmad Brooks and Aldon Smith stops the Raiders, the Blanda FG makes it 20-3.

Niners ball at the 20.

1/10 - Gore goes for 8.
2/2 - Smith to Gore, a dozen yards to the 40.  
1/10 - Gore gets 6
2/4 - Gore gets 2
3/2 - Smith to Crabtree, it's a first down to the Raider 40.
1/10 - Smith -- Looking Downfield --- Moss --- RANDY MOSS CATCHES IN STRIDE - RANDY MOSS IS GONNA GO -- TOUCH....

There's a flag down -- holding, offense -- this play is coming back - the Niners will have first and 20 at midfield as the 4th quarter begins.

4th Qtr: Raiders 20 49ers 3
Oakland up 17, Niners in need of a big comeback here, they have a second and long at midfield.

They don't pick it up - after the punt, Oakland gets the ball back at the 11.  Up 17.

1/10 - Lamonica to Dixon.  2 yards.
2/8 - Daniels busts a 16 yarder to the 29.
1/10 - Dixon for 1.
2/9 - Hewritt Dixon breaks a 20 yarder, Raiders are at midfield.  
1/10 - Daniels gets 4.
2/6 - Dixon busts one -- Hewritt Dixon a huge gainer, he's all the way to the 49er 10 yard line!  First down and goal for the Raiders.
1/goal - Lamonica -- End Zone -- Biletnikoff --- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS -- Fred Biletnikoff with his 3rd score of the day -- Oakland now up 27-3 -- the Raiders are marching toward a win in this regional semi-final.

Kapernick returns, Niners at the 34.

2/10 - Kaepernick 9 yards to Crabtree.
3/1 - Kaepernick runs for the first down.

But -- that's all - the Niners go for it on 4th down and aren't successful, Oakland taking over at midfield.

On the third play - Carlos Rogers Picks Off Lamonica -- Rogers makes his way to the Raider 20 - there's some life, just a tiny bit, for the Niners.  

1/10 - Kaepernick finds Delanie Walker, 9 yards.

4/1 - Kaepernick picks it up.  
1/goal Tom Keating sacks Kaepernick, Niners back at the 15.
2/goal - Kaepernick to Manningham -- Manningham has a step - Mario Manningham is gonna Go Into the EndZone -- TOUCHDOWN NINERS - 15 yards from Kaerpernick to Manningham, a 2 point pass to Crabtree makes it 27-11.  

Raider ball at the 20, 5 minutes left.

The Raiders run the next 3 and a half minutes of the clock, getting out beyond midfield, burning all the San Francisco timeouts.  Niners will get the ball back with 90 seconds left, down 16 no timeouts, they're unable to get beyond midfield and the game ends.

Region one is down to two teams, the 3rd seeded Raiders will be hosting the 4th seeded  '02 Bucs when we play the regional finals, they are in the field of the final 32 teams standing.
