MVP: William Andrews, 220 yds from scrimmage
The Falcons win gives us a chance for a look back, the Packers failure to get back to SB2 changes the impression of the early SB years, the first back to back champions become the Vikings, no longer the team that couldn't win the SB, instead, they get Gary Cuozzo, one of only 2 QBs to be named SB MVP. Those Viking wins in SB 5 and 6 were preceded by a Cowboys SB2 loss and an SB4 win - that becomes important because beginning with SB 7, either Dallas or Pittsburgh wins the SB every year until this year. Pittsburgh won SB 7, SB 9 and 10, then their 4th win was last year in SB14. That SB7 win was over Dallas, who at that point were 1-2 in SBs - but that would change, Dallas winning SB8, probably the best SB yet, an OT win over the Bengals, then the threepeat, SB 11-12-13. Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw are both 4 time SB winning QBs, no one has repeated as MVP. The best individual performance in SB history? Probably Calvin Hill, in that Dallas win over the Bengals, over 200 yards from scrimmage and 3 TDs.
