The '99 Rams, '21 Rams, '67 Rams, '51 Rams are all moving on - the '18 team looks to join them - real obvious strengths for each side - it's the Rams 2nd ranked offense taking on the Seahawks top ranked defense.  Jared Goff is 24, 34 scores and 12 picks. 24 year old Todd Gurley was an All Pro, 1800 yards from scrimmage and 21 scores in 14 games. 25 year old Brandin Cooks, 26 year old Robert Woods both had over a thousand yards receiving.  The defense is not good - it's the worst unit in the game and the reason the Rams are only seeded 13th in the region.  It is, of course, led by the great Aaron Donald, 27 years old with 20.5 sacks in an All Pro Season.

Two NFC Champions who fell to the Patriots in the SB - Rams head to Seattle, it's a 4/13 matchup in Region 10.  Let's go to the kick.

1st Qtr
Rams starting at the 30.

3 and out - Michael Bennett with the sack to end the drive.

Seahawks start at the 30 - Marshawn Lynch runs for 23 yards on the first play; the drive ends there, Rams take over after the punt at the 14.

1/10 - Todd Gurley stopped at the line.
2/10 - Gurley again, 2 yards.
3/8 - Jared Goff's first completion of the day is to CJ Anderson out of the backfield - Anderson gets a block and goes down the sideline for a 22 yard gain, first down at the 38. Holding on the next play makes it first and 20.
1/20 - Goff - Tyler Higbee, 6 yards.
2/14 - Goff picks it up, he escapes - pulls it down -- gains 14 yards - Rams are at the 48.
1/10 - Goff to Higbee, 5 yards.
2/5 - Anderson grinds out 2.
3/3 - Gurley picks it up - LA at the Seattle 41.

But -- that's all - Cliff Avril ends the drive with a sack - LA punt - Seahawks at the 14.

3 and out, Aaron Donald sacks Wilson - Seattle has to punt deep from their own end and LA starts at the Seahawk 43.  1 play - a Gurley 6 yard run and the qtr ends.

1/10 - Goff - Malcolm Brown - he gets to the five yard line.
2/4 - Goff - End Zone - Robert Woods -- TOUCHDOWN RAMS - Jared Goff finds Robert Woods with the 5 yard score and LA scores the game's first points.

1/10 - Lynch with the big gain - 19 yards to the Rams 30.
1/10 - Seattle tries the end around to Doug Baldwin - Donald blows it up and when a holding call backs Seattle up on the next play they find themselves at the LA 42.
2/22 - Lynch gets 6.
3/16 - Wilson - in trouble -- escapes -- Wilson has some daylight - Russell Wilson picks it up - big play by Wilson, Seattle is at the 18.
1/10 - Wilson -- to Luke Willson  - Willson is dragged down at the 4 yard line, Seattle with a first and goal.
1/goal - Lynch -- Lynch pounds his way -- into the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN SEAHAWKS - 64 yards in 5 minutes, Seattle ties the score at 7.

Rams at the 36, little more than 4 to go in the half.

The drive ends here - short Zuerlein FG and it's 10-7.

1/10 - Wilson - Baldwin -- 17 yards and out of bounds at the 39.
1/10 - Incomplete

1/10 - Wilson -- Baldwin on the crossing route -- Baldwin is out of bounds at the 6 yard line.
1/goal - Wilson -- RPO -- Wilson fakes the pitch - Wilson keeps -- Wilson's got some green -  Russell Wilson is Gonna Go Into the EndZone -- TOUCHDOWN SEAHAWKS - 78 yards in a minute -- super, super, super impressive from this Seattle offense.  Wilson is into the endzone and it's 14-10.

Rams at the 35.

1/10 - Goff -- downfield to Brandin Cooks -- 19 yarsds, LA stops the clock at the Seattle 46. 31 seconds left.
1/10 - Goff - Woods -- 6 yards and out of bounds.
2/4 - Goff - Cooks, he's got a first down at the 34, LA stops the clock at 15 seconds.
1/10 - Goff - in trouble -- Goff escapes - he's out of bounds with a 2 yard gain with just 4 seconds left -- McVay calls on Zuerlein - he kicks the long FG at the gun and we head to the locker room.

Third Quarter: Seahawks 14 Rams 13
Offense emerges in the second quarter, both squads moving up and down the field, Seattle emerging with the 1 point advantage and we have a good one as we head to the third qtr.

Seattle to start at the 28.

1/10 - Busted play, Donald is through the line and Wilson just barely escapes -- Lynch has leaked out -- he is wide open on the other side of the field -- and Wilson locates him - Lynch will go all the way to the Rams 31 line, it's a 41 yard pickup for
Seattle, biggest play of the day.
1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - Lynch, 10 yards and the Seahawks are at the 21.

But -- that's where it ends, 3 plays net 3 yards, Hauschka FG makes it 17-13

Rams at the 19.

1 first down - a Gurley 14 yard run - but they punt and Seattle takes over middle of the 3rd, up 4 pts, at their own 33.

2/7 - Lynch for 3

1/10 - Lynch is stopped at the line.
2/10- Turbin goes for 10 - another Seattle first down.
1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - Wilson - Baldwin - Baldwin's got a step on the secondary -- Baldwin is Gonna Go -- Into the EndZone -- TOUCHDOWN SEAHAWKS - Russell Wilson 32 yards to Doug Baldwin and Seattle extends this lead to 24-13, 67 yards in less than 5 minutes and now with 3 and a half to go in the third, Seattle's up 11.

Rams at the 36.

3 and out, Michael Bennett with his second sack of the day.  Seahawks in good shape at their own 40 yard line.  2 Lynch runs net 12 yards as the quarter ends.

4th Qtr: Sehawks 24 Rams 13

1/10 - Lynch gets 1
2/9 - Lynch gets 1
3/8 - Christine Michael's first carry of the game picks up the first down -- Seattle now at the Rams 29 yard line with just over 4 minutes to go.
1/10 - Lynch gets 1
2/9 - Turbin with the 11 yard run -- stays inbounds, LA has used 2 timeouts - there's three and a half minutes left and Seattle is at the 17.
1/10 - Lynch -- Lynch busts through the line and he is going to rumble on Into the End Zone - TOUCHDOWN SEAHAWKS - and this one is a rout - a half dozen runs to go 55 yards and salt this away, 34-13.

Rams start at the 20 - they'll get a big play, 42 yards from Goff to Cooks - but the drive ends on downs with a few seconds left, victory formation for Wilson and it is done.

Final: Seahawks 34 Rams 13

The '67 Raiders, '02 Raiders, '76 Raiders have all moved on; the 12th seeds in Region 10 is the '75 squad with the 4th best offense in the NFL. The 30 year old Snake had 16 scores and (gulp) 24 picks.  27 year old Cliff Branch is an All Pro, he had 9 scores. Oakland's gonna run the ball behind 29 year old Art Shell/30 year old Gene Upshaw. The defense is just okay - 35 year old Willie Brown leads a secondary that had 18 picks.

We get what looks like a competitive 5/12 game; let's go to a cold Wrigley Field for the kick.

1st Qtr
Raiders will start at the 29.

3 and out.  Best defense from 1963 against the 4th best defense from '75 here.

Bears at the 16.  3 and out.

Big special teams play -- Ted Hendricks breaks through the line -- and Blocks the Punt - Oakland blocks the Bears punt - Oakland has a first and goal inside the 5 yard line!

3 and out.  This is the game we're looking at today, it is cold and neither offense is great.  Blanda.  Chip shot.  6-0.

Bears at the 32.  Two plays gain a yard, it's 3rd and 9 at the 33 as the qtr ends.

2nd Qtr:  Raiders 6 Bears 0
2 Blanda FGs and a Hendricks blocked punt is the story so far.  Bears have 3rd and 9 at their own 33, they have yet to complete a pass or gain a first down.

They don't pick it up.  After the punt, Oakland at the 26.

Oakland gets a first down - Stabler 19 yards to Cliff Branch - but that's where the drive ends -- Ray Guy could be a difference maker today, his punt is downed at the Bear 12.  11 minutes left in the half.

1/10 - Ronnie Bull picks up Chicago's first first down - 17 yard run.
1/10 - Rick Casares gets 1.
2/9 - Billy Wade completes his first pass - a dozen yards to Mike Ditka.
1/10 - Ronnie Bull picks up 34 yards -- there's a big gainer -- Bears all the way to the Oakland 24 yard line.
1/10 - Wade to Joe Marconi - 12 yards and that is another first down -- Chicago at the Oakland 12.
1/10 - Cesares gets a yard.
2/9 - Willie Galimore gets a yard - and then he's blown up by Phil Villapiano - Galimore loses the ball -- Fumble -- Fumble -- Oakland recovers and the Raiders take over with less than 7 to play at their own 8 yard line.

That's another big play - the blocked punt and now a forced fumble deep in their own end.

1/10 - Marv Hubbard gets 1.
2/9 - Stabler to Clarence Davis - 10 yards and a first down.
1/10 - Davis gets 2.
2/8 - Hubbard gets 3 and an offsides picks it up.
1/10 - Van Eeghen gets 2.
2/8 - Hubbard gets 1.
3/7 - The Snake rolling out -- Stabler to Siani, 11 yards out to the 43 yard line.
1/10 - Doug Atkins sacks the Snake -- it's the last play before the 2 minute warning - and Oakland won't be moving further, they punt at 90 seconds.

Bears at their own 34 -- they go 3 and out - Ted Hendricks with 2 sacks on the drive to add to his blocked punt -- Bears have to kick it away - its the end of the half.

Third Qtr: Raiders 6 Bears 0
Ted Hendricks has 2 sacks and a blocked punt. Oakland up 6.

Bears at the 22.

3 and out.  Raiders at the 33.

3 and out.  Bears at the 27.

3 and out.  Raiders at the 38.

1/10 - Stabler has to run, he gets a couple.
2/8 - Stabler -- Branch - a dozen yards -- Raiders at the Bear 48.
1/10 - Clarence Davis, Shell and Upshaw pulling -- Davis has a hole -- Davis has a step -- Clarence Davis has broken it!  Davis striding  -- Clarence Davis is gonna go Into the End Zone -- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - Clarence Davis runs 48 yards to the house and the Raiders are now up 13-0.

Bears at the 28.  3 and out.  Oakland's defense just come up huge today.

Raiders at the 20.

One first down - Stabler to Biletnikoff, 20 yards - the drive dies here, Guy hits another great punt - Bears open at their own 7.

2 passes from Wade to Ditka net 15 yards and the qtr ends.

4th Qtr: Raiders 13 Bears 0
We sure look like the 12/5 upset's about to happen in Region 10, Oakland's up 2 scores, Chicago deep in their own end, first down at the 22.

1/10 - Wade to Cesares for 8.
2/2 - Wade to Johnny Morris, 21 yards -- Bears at the Raider 49.
1/10 - Cesares gets nothing.
2/10 - Half dozen for Marconi.
3/4 - Incomplete

Old Man Halas has a decision to make, 12 minutes left, down 2 scores, 4th and 4.

Bears go for it.

4/4 - Wade has to run -- Wade escapes -- Wade's got the first down -- Wade all the way to the Oakland 46 yard line -- Chicago at the Raider 46.
1/10 - Casares gets 1.
2/9 - 18 yards from Wade to Morris -- Bears are at the Oakland 27 yard line.
1/10 - Wade -- Bo Farrington -- 15 yards and Chicago is now at the 12 with a little more than 9 to go.
1/10 - Wade -- Morris - 5 yards to the 7.
2/5 - Wade - sacked by George Atkinson on the safety blitz - Bears have third and a ton.
3/11 - Wade -- Monte Johnson up the middle -- Oakland's 4th sack and it is now 4th and 15 at the 17 with a little more than 7 left.

Field goal won't help.  Halas is going to fire this last bullet.

4/15 - Wade -- Endzone -- Johnny Morris -- TOUCHDOWN BEARS - Bears are into the endzone -- they miss the XP - so its 13-6, 7 to go - Raiders will start at the 22.

1/10 - Marv Hubbard goes for 27 yards, big gainer - Raiders at the 49.
1/10 - Pete Banaszak for 3.
2/7 - Snake.  Biletnikoff -- 11 yards to the 37.

The next 3 plays lose 9 yards on the Joe Fortunato sack - and the Bears will get another shot at this. Great Guy kick, of course -- Bears at their own 8.

So - here we go.  Little more than 3 minutes left in the game.  Bears down 6, they need to drive 92 yards to tie this game.

1/10 - Cesares gets 7 and goes out of bounds.
2/3 - Marconi is just short of the sticks - Bears use their first timeout.
3/1 - Wade gets dropped by Jack Tatum on the safety blitz -- Oakland's got 5 sacks on the day.  And now it is another 4th down for Chicago, back at their own 12, they call their second timeout here, little more than 2 to play.
4/6 - Wade -- out to Bull - Bull is going to be Stopped Short by Villapiano - and that could be that -- yet another big play by the Raider defense.

Oakland's gonna take the rest of the game, 3 running plays burns the 2 minute warning and the Bears last time out - Blanda hits the chip shot FG, that makes it a 10 point game - handful of seconds left and this will be the final.

Final: Raiders 16 Bears 6

Big spot.

4/4 - Manning - goes over the middle to McGahee -- he is Dropped by the big shot by Jeremiah Trotter and he is going to be ---- just short of the sticks -- the Eagles take over on downs at their own 43.  Oooooh, boy.

2/6 - Buckhalter gets just shy of the first down, Denver stops the clock. 1:52 left, Eagles with the 3rd and 1 at the 22.

Denver's got to get the stop.  Got to get the stop.  3rd down and a yard to go.

3/1 - Give to Staley....and he Picks Up the First Down!  Denver has to use their second timeout, it's 1st down for the Eagles now at the Denver 20 yard line, Denver can only stop the clock one more time -- and that's not enough -- Eagles able to run out the clock and it is done.
