It's the Denver offense against the top defense in 1975.  The '77 Rams have already been eliminated; this team really needs a huge defensive effort to avoid that fate. 25 year old Jack Youngblood is the only All Pro. 35 year old Merlin Olsen and 28 year old Hacksaw Reynolds are among the other 4 Pro Bowlers on defense. The Rams are unlikely to get a ton of offense, James Harris is 28, 15 total scores, 15 total picks. 3 Pro Bowlers on offense including the future Hall of Famer, 32 year old Tom Mack

Rams defense v. Broncos offense - 1975 vs 2014 - let's go to Denver for the kick.

1st Qtr
Denver starts at the 25.

1/10 - CJ Anderson gets the first carry, 1 yard.
1/9 - Anderson for 2
3/7 - Peyton Mannings first pass is caught - Emmanuel Sanders - Sanders runs for 17 and the first.
1/10 - Manning to Wes Welker over the middle, Welker catches the ball in space and picks up 27 all the way to the Rams 28.
1/10 - Ronnie Hillman stopped at the line.
2/10 - Manning to Anderson out of the backfield, Anderson rumbling for 16.
1/10 - Manning laces a ball in traffic to Sanders - TOUCHDOWN BRONCOS - and that was easy money - 75 yards in just a little over 4 minutes - the Rams defense just no match at all for the modern Broncos passing attack.

Rams at the 21.

1/10 - It's Lawrence McCutcheon, he gets 5
2/5 - McCutcheon again, a yard.
3/4 - Jim Burtelsen carries - he gets 11 - the Rams run the ball, that's what they do - even against a quick strike Broncos offense.

The next 3 plays net 4 yards.  Denver regains at the 30.

1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - Anderson gets 3
3/7 - Manning finds Montee Ball - Ball makes his way for 13.
1/5 - After a penalty, CJ Anderson runs for a dozen, Broncos at the Rams 37.

But that's it - 3 plays net a yard - John Fox decides to play it very safe and punt - Rams at the 17.  Fox maybe did them a favor there.

1/10 - McCutcheon gets 1
2/9 - McCutcheon is stopped at the line
3/9 - James Harris completes his first pass of the game, 24 yards downfield to Ron Jessie.
1/15 - After a penalty, Bertelsen gets 8.
2/7 - Cullen Bryant gets 6 - third and 1 for LA at the Denver 49.
3/1 - McCutcheon is met in the backfield and loses a yard - big stop for the Denver defense as the quarter ends.

2nd Qtr
Denver took the opening drive right down the field against the best defense from '75, that's where we stand now - Rams have 4th and 2 at midfield - Chuck Knox maybe does Denver a favor - plays it conservative and punts.  Broncos at the 19.

They get a first down on an Anderson 12 yard run - but Jack Youngblood sacks Manning and Denver's punting.  Rams at their own 28.

They get a first down on a James Harris 17 yard scramble - but that's as far as it goes, the punt is to the Denver 16.

They get a first down, Manning to Demaryius Thomas for 23, but a Fred Dryer sack ends the drive, another punt.  Rams start at their own 28, 4:34 left in the half, still 7-0 Denver.

3 and out.  Denver at their own 39.  2:23.

1/10 - Hillman gets 3
2/7 - Manning goes downfield - it's Thomas - 33 yards, Denver stops the clock at 1:50 at the Rams 25.
1/10 - Anderson is stuffed
2/10 - Incomplete
3/10 - Manning hits Thomas again - 18 yards and it's a first and goal.
1/goal - Hillman scoots into the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN BRONCOS - 61 yards in 1:16, Denver goes up 14 nothing.

The Rams get a first down on a Cullen Bryant 20 yard run, but wind up punting - Denver gets a 43 yard Manning to Thomas pass that ends the half.

Third Qtr
The half started as it began, with an easy Broncos TD drive - the Rams offense just hasn't been able to muster anything today and given Denver's ability to put points on the board, this game looked like it might be a tough sled for LA - and here we are.

Rams start at the 37.  Down 14-0.

1/10 - McCutcheon loses 2.
2/12 - Bertelsen goes for a dozen.  First down.
1/10 - Bertelsen gets 4.
2/6 - McCutcheon gers 1.
3/5 - Harris's first pass of the quarter to Ron Jessie - its 6 yards and the first down, Rams in Broncos territory at the 42.

The next 3 plays net 8 yards - decision time for Knox on 4th and short - down 2 scores - he decides a long Tom Dempsey FG...51 yards....it is good and the Rams are on the board.

Denver starts at the 38, they get a first down on a Manning to Thomas 14 yard gain - but thats all and they punt.  Great punt, altitude helps, Rams take over at their own 9 - can they put a drive together.

On 2nd and 9 - Cullen Bryant runs for 15 yards.

On 2nd and 7 - a strip sack from DeMarcus Ware -- Ware recovers at the Rams 25 - and thats the big blow - Ware sacks Harris, forces a fumble, recovers it - and now the Broncos have a first down at the LA 25.

On 3rd and 7 - Manning strikes - hitting Sanders over the middle - he runs untouched into the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN BRONCOS - that feels like the dagger - Manning 22 yard pass to Sanders, it's 21-3, LA will get the ball back at the 19, 3:23 left in the third.

1/10 - Bertelsen for 7
2/3 - McCutcheon stopped.
3/3 - Harris just doesn't have the ability to bring this team back through the air at 21-3, he finds Bob Klein for 6 and the first down.
1/10 - McCutcheon gets 4
2/6 - Harold Jackson gets his first catch of the day - 14 yards and the first, Rams at midfield as the quarter ends.

4th Qtr
The Ware strip sack of Harris looks like the dagger, 3 plays later Manning hit Sanders for the score, it's 21-3 Broncos.  Rams have first down at midfield.

And that's as far as it goes.

Broncos take over at the 11 after what looks like a white flag punt.

They get to the middle of the field - three Manning passes - 16 to Sanders, 16 to Thomas, 13 to Anderson - on 3 straight plays get 3 first downs - but the drive ends around midfield and the Rams regain at their own 8, 7:42 left.

The first 3 plays of the drive lose 6 yards, Von Miller getting a sack.

On 4th and 16 from their own 2, Harris hits McCutcheon for 18 and the first down.

Von Miller gets another sack - but it's followed by Harris finding Jackson for 35 to get to the middle of the field.

3 first downs are coming - Harris to Jessie for 10, Harris to Klein for 10, Harris to Jessie for 15, to get the Rams down to the Bronco 16 with 4:30 left in the game.  Two plays later Harris hits Bertelsen in the endzone - TOUCHDOWN RAMS - it's a hollow victory, but the Rams cut the deficit to 21-10.

The Rams try the onside kick.  The Broncos recover.  3 run plays lead to a 3 and out.

Rams get the ball back at the 2 minute warning at their own 16.

2 plays later Chris Harris picks off James Harris - nearly takes it to the house - Denver runs the ball 3 times, LA using all their timeouts - Denver kicks the FG with 19 seconds left and that's the final score.

Final: Broncos 24 Rams 10
This one never really in doubt - the Broncos moved the ball when they needed to and stopped the Rams when they needed to - Denver moves to round two to face the top seeded '62 Packers.

Manning: 16 for 24, 312 yds, 2 TD

The '74 Raiders got boatraced by the '16 Falcons in Region 3 - back up 2 years and here's the '72 team, with the 3rd best offense in football; they ran all over the '91 Saints in the play in round, over 300 yards gained on the ground.  The Mad Bomber is 31, 18 scores and a dozen picks. 26 year old Marv Hubbard ran for over a thousand yards. 29 year old Fred Biletnikoff is All Pro and, of course, the OL is stacked with Pro Bowlers. One Pro-Bowler on the okay/good enough defense, it's Willie Brown, 32, with 4 picks.

1/10 - Jim Taylor breaks one - Kramer and Gregg clear the road and Taylor busts out a 58 yard run all the way to the Oakland 5 yard line.

And then the Raiders stop them.  The next 3 plays gain a yard, there's a Phil Villapiano sack - Lombardi chooses the chip shot and it's 10-3.

1/10 - Lamonica goes downfield.  Big shot.  Raymond Chester.  32 yards!  Huge play for the Raiders - they stop the clock at 1:38 at the Packer 42 yard line!

The next 3 plays gain one yard.  The Packer defense refusing to yield.

Madden sends Blanda out.  In the play in game, Blanda hit a 55 yard FG.

This one would be 58.  Just a tick over a minute to go.  Raiders are either going to tie this game here or lose it.

Here's Blanda's kick....it's up......

Wide Left.

Blanda misses the 58 yard FG - the Pack regains possession, they pick up a first down on a Taylor 12 yard run and that is the end of the game.

Final: Packers 20 Raiders 17

All 5 top seeds have won, but we've seen some really close contests with the '07 Patriots and '85 Bears - this was that, the Raiders gave every inch of it today, but fell at the end.

Lamonica: 6 for 18, 87 yds

Taylor: 20 carries, 158 yds, 1 TD
Hubbard: 15 carries, 86 yds

Smith: 14 carries, 80 yds 1 TD

McGee: 2 receptions, 21 yds
Biletnikoff: 2 receptions, 21 yds

Player of the Game: Jim Taylor

The '74 Raiders got boatraced by the '16 Falcons in Region 3 - back up 2 years and here's the '72 team, with the 3rd best offense in football (it's Oakland's offense v the Saints defense in this one) The Mad Bomber is 31, 18 scores and a dozen picks. 26 year old Marv Hubbard ran for over a thousand yards. 29 year old Fred Biletnikoff is All Pro and, of course, the OL is stacked with Pro Bowlers (Raiders OL v. Saints LB to put a finer point on the matchup). One Pro-Bowler on the okay/good enough defense, it's Willie Brown, 32, with 4 picks.

Raiders v. Saints - winner to move into the Region 5 field to face the top seeded 1962 Packers.  Let's go to the Superdome

1st Qtr
Saints to start way out at the 48, big Gene Atkins return on the opening kick.

1/10 - Hebert to Gill Fenerty for 3 - brought down by a vicious George Atkinson facemask, Fenerty's head violently twisted - it's 15 more and the Saints are at the Raider 34.

1/10 - Fred McAfee in for Fenerty now - stopped at the line.
2/10 - McAfee for 3.
3/7 - Bobby Hebert finds Quinn Early - it's 10 yds to the 21.
1/10 - Hebert scrambles for 5.
2/5 - Hebert to Eric Martin - 14 yards and the Saints are at the Oakland 2
1/goal - McAfee is into the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN SAINTS - 52 yard drive in first 5 minutes of the game - it's the Saints offense who gets this going early.  Fred McAfee into the endzone.

Oakland at the 31.

1/10 - It's Charlie Smith with the first carry, Raiders likely to try to move on the ground today
2/2 - Smith picks it up.
1/10 - Hubbard gets a yard
2/9 - Incomplete
1/10 - Daryle Lamonica's first pass is to a screen to Hubbard - he gets behind Shell and Upshaw and rumbles for 21 to the Saints 37.
1/10 - Smith up the gut for 18.
1/10 - Sweep left to Hubbard - Shell and Upshaw leading the way -- to the end zone --- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - it takes Oakland less than 4 minutes to tie this up.  Marv Hubbard with the 19 yard run.

Saints at the 23.

3 and out.

Raiders at the 33.  They get one first down on a 13 yard Lamonica/Biletnikoff connection, but also punt.

Saints at the 16 - another 3 and out but the qtr ends before the punt.

2nd Qtr
Each team went down and scores on their opening drive - that's where it stands now, after the punt, Oakland to start at the 38.

3 and out.  Saints at the 40, good runback by Vince Buck.

1/10 - McAfee has been on since Fenerty's injury on the first play, he goes for 24 here and the Saints are at the Raider 36.
1/10 - Hebert to Floyd Turner for 16 - Saints at the 20.
1/10 - Fenerty's back to the approval of the home crowd, he gets 6
2/4 - Fenerty again - he gets 8 and it is a first and goal for the Saints.

3 plays net 3 yards - chip shot for Morten Andersen makes it 10-7.

Raider ball at the 35.  7:39.

1/10 - Marv Hubbard running the ball behind that left side - 37 yards to the Saints 28.
1/10 - Lamonica is brought down by Frank Warren, 5 yard loss.
2/15 - Hubbard gets the 5 back.
3/10 - Lamonica to Smith - just short of the sticks.  4th and a foot.

Madden decides to go for it - it's Clarence Davis on the carry - he gets 4 and picks it up.

The next 3 plays net 4 yards - Blanda hits the short FG and again, we are tied.

Saints ball at the 37.

3 and out.

Raiders get it back at the 31.  2:19.

They'll get a first down, Lamonica to Smith for 9 and a 9 yard Smith run - but the Raiders punt.

Saints at the 29 - 3 and out.

Oakland has 52 seconds left when they get the ball back at the 30.

Lamonica picks up 22, 10 to Biletnikoff, 12 to Chester.  Oakland uses its final timeout at 18 seconds at the Saints 48.

Lamonica gets 10 more - passing to Hubbard to the Saints 38, he's out of bounds at 10 seconds left.

Raiders maybe outside of Blanda's range here. Madden decides to take a shot - Lamonica to the end zone......incomplete, still 1 second left.

Blanda.  55 yards.......it's Good!  George Blanda hits a 55 yard FG as we head to the locker room.  13-10

Third Qtr
Close, as you'd expect from the play in game - 2 2nd qtr Blanda FGs, including a bomb, maybe (I'd bet yes) the longest FG of his career, he's 45 in 1972, 55 yards, give Oakland the 13-10 lead.  Raiders to open at the 26.

3 and out.

Saints at the 40, good field position on the Buck return.  They get a first down, Hebert to Early for 8 yards the biggest play - but they punt around midfield.  Raiders at the 19.

1/10 - Marv Hubbard for 1
2/9 - Charlie Smith for 7.  Third and short.
3/2 - Smith picks it up.  Raiders at the 32.
1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - Lamonica to Mike Siani - 17 yards and the Raiders are near midfield.
1/10 - Hubbard for 4.
2/6 - Clarence Davis for 12 - Raiders at the 35.
1/10 - Charlie Smith sweep - running behind Shell and Upshaw -- Shell and Upshaw just clearing the road -- 35 yards --- straight to the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - Oakland up 10 points now - the Raider OL really coming up big today against this excellent Saints defense.

Saints at the 17.  5:18.

3 and out.  Oakland great field position at their own 46.  They get a first down on a Charlie Smith 17 yard run - but Rickey Jackson gets a sack that backs Oakland up and they wind up punting.  Touchback

On the next play - McAfee is met in the backfield by Sistrunk -- he forces the fumble and Oakland recovers at the Saints 20.  Biggest play of the day - Raiders deep in the Saints end with a 10 point lead.

Hubbard runs for a yard and we head to the 4th qtr.

4th Qtr
Oakland's OL, 3 men all in the Pro Bowl, all headed to the Hall of Fame, starting to dominate now - Oakland up 10, 2nd and 9 at the Saints 19 after the McAfee fumble.

On the first play of the quarter, Charlie Smith bursts to the 5 and the Raiders have first and goal.

On the second play Hubbard gets to the 2.

On the third play, Clarence Davis goes in -- Oakland is up 27-10 and this one is done.

Saints will start at their own 15.

1/10 - Fenerty gets a yard, Saints then go back 5 on a penalty.
2/14 - McAfee gets 17 - Saints gonna have a long road trying to come back.
1/10 - Hillard stopped at the line.
2/10 - Fenerty stopped at the line
3/10 - Hebert to Eric Martin, 14 yards - Saints are at the 43.
1/10 - McAfee gets 4.
2/6 - Fenerty gets 4.
3/2 - Hebert going deep - Hebert looking to hit a homer -- Picked Off - by Willie Brown - Brown Intercepts Hebert and that will be that - Raiders at their own 20, 9 minute left, up 17.

3 runs and a punt.  Buck gets the big return - back to the Raider 36.

4 Saints plays lose a total of 4 yards.  Raiders regain possession, just a matter now of finishing up.  6 minutes left.  Oakland at their own 40.

1/10 - Smith gains 5
2/5 - Hubbard busts one -- Hubbard busts one for 46 yards ---Hubbard all the way to the New Orleans 9 yard line.
1/goal - Davis loses 1
2/goal - Hubbard is into the endzone -- easy money today for the Raiders - TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS - this '72 Raider OL will be heading to Lambeau to face Lombardi and the top seed in the region.  34-10

Saints at the 35.  4 minutes left.

On the first play, Hebert hits that homer - to Floyd Turner - 65 yard TD strike - big shot for the Saints - they'll miss the 2 pt conversion and it's 34-16. TOUCHDOWN SAINTS

Raiders ball with 3:30 left.  34-16.

On the first play - Marv Hubbard breaks a 62 yard run -- Oakland hasn't thrown the ball all quarter - the Saints are playing the run and still they are getting gashed.

3 plays lose 5 yards.  Blanda kicks the short FG and with a minute left it's 37-16.

Garbage time.

Saints at their own 20.  They pass their way down the field - 13 to Early, 5 to Turner, 12 to Turner - there's a 38 yard draw play for McAfee - on the last play of the game Hebert throws a 10 yd TD pass to Eric Martin, the XP ends the game. TOUCHDOWN SAINTS

Baltimore's a 15th seed, but they're the team in this game with a top ranking, the Colts had the best offense in '76.  26 total TDs for 25 year old All Pro Bert Jones, 9 picks.  Lydell Mitchell is 27, had a combined 1750+ yards.  24 year old Roger Carr had 11 TDs. The Colts are the inverse of the Packers, the defense is just adequate, they've got an All Pro, 25 year old John Dutton.

Colts offense vs. Packers defense. Let's go to Lambeau for the kick

1st Qtr

Packers start at the 31.

3 and out.  Colts at the 35.

3 and out.  Packers at the 25.

1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - Incomplete
3/10 - Aaron Rodgers picks up the game's first first down - 24 yards to Greg Jennings.

And on the next play Quinn Johnson, getting his first carry, fumbles.

Colts recover at their own 47.

3 and out.  Packers at the 26.

1/10 - Brandon Jackson goes for 11.
1/10 - Rodgers to John Kuhn for 6.
2/4 - Rodgers to Jennings - 13 yards and the Pack crosses midfield.

That's it - drive dies here.  Colts take over after the punt at the 14.

And go 3 and out - the best offense from 1976 can't produce a single first quarter first down against the second best defense from 2010.

Pack at their own 45, Kuhn gets a yard and we switch sides,

2nd Qtr
Defense only in the first qtr.  Neither side able to move the ball at all.

Pack w/2nd and 9 at the 46.

They lose 5 yards on the next 2 plays and punt.

Colts at the 39, Howard Stevens with a nice return.

1/10 - Lydell Mitchell for 5
2/5 - Lydell Mitchell for 5 and the first down.
1/10 - Roosevelt Leaks stacked up at the line.
2/10 - Don McCauley carries for a yard.
3/9 - Bert Jones finds Roger Carr for a big 26 yard pickup.  Colts at the 24.
1/10 - Mitchell for 11
1/10 - Leaks for 6 to the Packer 7
2/4 - Mitchell for 5 - Colts now with a first and goal at the 2.
1/goal - Mitchell is into the endzone -- TOUCHDOWN COLTS - With just 1 passing play the Colts go 61 yards in 6 minutes and score the game's first point.

Packers at the 23.  7:57

3 and out.  Colts to start at their own 42.  Good field position.  5:35 left in the half.

1/10 - McCauley for 2
2/8 - Ron Lee goes for 3.
3/5 - Jones goes to Glenn Doughty for 7 yards.  Holding on the next play takes the Pack back 10.
1/20 - Mitchell for 1
2/19 - Leaks for 4
3/16 - Bert Jones is really limiting his pass attempts, 1976 style, but he finds Lydell Mitchell for 17 here - first down for the Colts all the way to the Packer 34.  2 minute warning.

The next 3 plays lose 8 yards when Clay Matthews sacks Jones. Colts punt - it rolls into the endzone for a touchback - the Pack has less than a minute, Rodgers will complete a 13 yard pass to Andrew Quarless, but get sacked by Stan White and it ends the half.

Third Qtr
Defensive struggle - Colts top offense vs the Packers top defense, it's GB that's getting the better of that matchup - but on the other side the Packers offense just totally shut down, and it's Baltimore with the 7-0 lead.

Colts start at the 34.

3 and out.

Packers at the 39.  3 and out.

Colts at the 22.  3 and out -- we are full on getting a defensive battle in this 2/15 game.

Pack get good field position at their own 45.  9:29 left in the third.

1/10 - James Starks for 6
2/4 - Starks for 11 - Pack at the 38 and offsides gives them 5 more.

1/10 - Rodgers to Jennings for 7.
2/3 - Starks for 1
3/2 - Starks for 1

Pack just short of the 1st down, 4th and 1 at the 4. Down 7.  5:41 left in the third.

McCarthy decides to go for it.  It's a give to Ryan Grant -- he's  -- into the end zone -- TOUCHDOWN PACKERS -- Mike McCarthy decides to go for it on 4th and 1, not only does Grant pick it up - he's into the end zone and we are all tied up at 7, 5 minutes left - Colt ball at the 35.

1/10 - Mitchell for 2
2/8 - Mitchell goes for 13 - Colts at midfield
1/10 - Leaks for 3
2/7 - Jones finds Roger Carr - 20 yard pickup and the Colts are at the Pack 27.
1/10 - McCauley for 1
2/9 - Incomplete
3/9 - Jones finds Glenn Doughty for 14 - the Colts reach the Green Bay 12 yard line.

A McCauley run goes nowhere and the quarter ends

4th qtr
7-7 in this defensive battle, we've already seed the 3rd seed in region 4 fall, the second seed is getting all it wants here today.  Colts have a 2nd and 10 at the Packer 12.

And Lydell Mitchell goes off right tackle - and scoots his way into the end zone for the TOUCHDOWN COLTS - Baltimore takes the 14-7 lead-  the 15th seeds in Region 4 in Green Bay with a 7 point lead on the 2010 Super Bowl Champs.

Pack at the 38.  Nice runback by Jordy Nelson.

1/10 - Rodgers to Jermichael Finley - 18 yards and the Packers are in Colts territory.
1/10 - Jackson for 3
2/7 - Rodgers to Kuhn for 7 yards - Packers with a first down at the Colts 34.

But that's it - the next 3 plays net 1 yard.....and then Crosby misses a 52 yard FG....the Packers come away with nothing and with 11:14 left Baltimore has possession at their own 42.

1/10 - Mitchell for 2.
2/8 - Jones to Roger Carr for 17 - that's a big play here, Colts up 7 picking up the first down to the Packer 39.
1/10 - Leaks for 2
2/8 - Jones finds Ray Chester for 17 - hoooo, boy, are we about to see a 15 knock off a 2?  Exciting - Bert Jones to Ray Chester, the Baltimore Colts are at the Packer 20 yard line with 8:33 to go.  The 1976 Baltimore Colts are up 7 with a first down.

The next 3 plays lose 3 yards - Linhart......hits....the 40 yard FG and with under 7 minutes to go its 17-7.

1/10 - Rodgers is buried by John Dutton, it's a 9 yard loss.
2/19 - Incomplete
3/19 - Incomplete

This is it, right?  4th and 19.  5:48 left.  17-7 Colts.

Rodgers picks it up.  Hits Finley for 20 yards and the Pack is at the 42.

1/10 - Rodgers to Jennings for 12 and the Pack crosses midfield.
1/10 - Incomplete
2/10 - Rodgers to Jackson for 8 - Pack stopping the clock at 4:36.
3/2 - Incomplete.

And it's another 4th down.  Packers need 2 scores.

4/2 - Rodgers finds Donald Driver for the big strike - 26 yards, Geen Bay stays alive at the 12.

The next 3 plays lose 4 yards, Stan White comes through with his 2nd sack - McCarthy takes the 3 points and with 3:30 left it's 17-10 Colts.

Packers kick it deep. Colts take over at the 21.  Pack needs a quick stop.  3:26 left.

1/10 McCauley gets 6.  Clock ticking.
2/4 - Jones a quick pass over the middle to Carr - that's 9 and a first, the Packers did not expect that call in that spot - they call time, but that might be the dagger.
1/10 - Mitchell goes for 13 - we're at the two minute warning and the Colts are at their own 49.
1/10 - Mitchell goes for 15 and that might be that - the Packers use their second timeout, Lydell Mitchell gains 28 yards on the last 2 plays, there's 1:53 left and the Colts are at the 36.
1/10 - Leaks is stopped at the line, that's the last GB timeout.
2/8 - Mitchell runs into the line.  Tick, tick, tick, tick.
3/7 - Mitchell gets 7 - he's going to be short - but stays in bounds, Colts will stop the clock themselves before the delay of game - as they're lining up for the 44 yard FG....

...Linhart hits it - and that will do it - Rodgers will have time for a couple of passes - but it ends here.

Final: Colts 20 Packers 10
Chaos at the bottom half of Region 4.  Two Super Bowl Champs, the 3rd seeded '16 Patriots and the 2nd seed '10 Packers both get bounced in the two biggest upsets of the tournament to date.

The 2015 Super Bowl Champion Broncos are the 10th seeds in the region; 4th best defense in football - we've got a likely defensive battle in this one.  26 year old All Pro Von Miller and 33 year old DeMarcus Ware combined for 17.5 sacks. The offense is bad, Peyton Manning is 39, 9 scores and 17 picks, it's maybe the worst QB performance in the tournament. 28 year old Demaryius Thomas caught 105 balls.

2nd best defense in '76 against the 4th best from '15 - let's head to Minnesota for the kick.

1st Qtr
Vikes start deep in their own end, at the 6.

Brent McClanahan goes for 13 on the first play - the next 3 net 9 yards and the Vikes kick.

Denver at their own 47.

It's a pitch to CJ Anderson --- and he busts one -- CJ Anderson goes 53 yards all the way to the house -- TOUCHDOWN BRONCOS -- we came for a defensive battle but CJ Anderson breaks a 53 yard TD run on Denver's first play of the game.  7-0.

Vikes at the 28.  3 and out.

The next 3 plays net 9 yards - as the quarter ends - Denver will have a 4th and 1 at the Viking 14.

4th Qtr -
Minnesota's only score today is the pick 6, that leaves Denver up 10 with a 4th and 1.

They decide to kick.  It's good - and so the Vikes are now down 20-7.

The 2021 Chiefs just slide into the tournament with that 4th ranked offense; they weren't as good in 2021 as the Lions were in 1970, which is why we're headed to Detroit for this game - but the 50 years separating them and the ultramodern Mahomes attack might be too much.  Mahomes is 26, had 39 total scores and 13 picks.  He throws it to Tyreek Hill, 27, 111 receptions and Travis Kelce, 32 with 92 catches. The defense is just okay, 27 year old Chris Jones leads the way with his 9 sacks.

The ultramodern Chiefs head to Detroit to face the number 2 offense and defense from 1970.  Lets go to the kick.

Lions start back at their 11 - they go 3 and out, KC using their last timeout - a big sack by Chris Jones puts Detroit deep, deep in the shadow of their own goal when they punt.
