First a perfect game is not the best pitched game of the month, now a first ballot Hall of Famer retires mid-season and it's not even the biggest story of the day.
Armando Galarraga's 28 out perfect game = greatest pitching performance of all time? Jim Joyce's call = worst blown call in baseball history? Ken who?
And my money is on Spain. Figuratively that is, but it's still on Spain.
Spain and Brazil are the two standout teams but I narrowly edge for Spain. This is their golden generation. Xavi, Torres, Iniesta and Villa all at the peak of their powers. If they're ever going to do it, it'll be this one.
As an outside bet, Holland are as talented as ever but they've also got a really good coach this time around. That hasn't happened in a long time. They might do something.
